The Night We Tore the Goal Posts Down

Do you remember the song Graduation Day (recorded by the Beach Boys among others?)….I love that sweet song. It is nostalgic, and talks of memories we each build as we move from beginning our education to completing it. No matter how far each of us went in our schooling (and no matter whether we were home schooled or other-schooled) there are milestones. Those milestones themselves culminate in beautiful memories that we hold in our hearts. Don’t you love those moments that save themselves like a photo or film clip (replete with sound track) in your mind?

It is hard to believe that the Beach Boys and the Rolling Stones are each having tours this summer to celebrate their 50th anniversaries! Of course the sound tracks of our minds come with memories. We know where we were when we heard specific songs. Who would have thought it back when we saw those groups in their early days?

Anyway, I wrote earlier about my son’s commencement. I am putting some photos in today….a photo of our guy pomp and circumstancing in to the ceremony, and a photo of the 3 of us…..

Congratulations and what a nice photo. I think we remember sounds and smells better than the actual visual. Memories are a great photo books that don’t gather dust.

  3. What wonderful smiling faces! It is a family accomplishment! I also seem to hear those soundtracks when commemorating something as special as this occasion. But did you absolutely need to mention that the Stones and Beach Boys are on celebrating 50th anniversary tours? Ha! That one made me swallow hard 🙂 I hope your son feels all the good wishes coming his way! Debra
