Each week Jake at jakesprinters posts a prompt for his sunday post. Now I only participate occasionally because I am nowhere near the prolific photographer that so many others are. But—since this Sunday morning is going to be different from many of the Sunday mornings recently, I wanted to write about it. An old college friend of mine is in town for a conference this weekend. I have known her since she was a freshman in college and I was a senior in college. She was a science major—and became an amazing pediatrician. She is a joyous, spirit-filled terrific lady. I am blessed by her friendship, and the children she treats are blessed by her gifts as a physicians.
So this Sunday we will get together for a glorious lunch. It will be too brief—but our memories of the snippet of time will carry us through many a year. My delightful friend. It stuns me at times to realize how fast the years fly by. Just awhile together we spent the day at the Jersey shore when I still lived out east. Just awhile ago. Her son was almost 2, mine was about 7 or 8. Now her son is a freshman in college. mine is 24… But today I will head to church with my men-folk. Then I will head to her. We will spend some time between her conference sessions. The coffee and sharing of hearts will glow in our memories forever. Morning has promise~and today will have joy.
The photo below was taken by my cousin at Itasca State Park in MN. I think this bridge is like the bridge to the new day provided by morning. After all, friendship is a bridge from our hearts, to the hearts of our friends, straight on to God.
