Not good news at dermatologist

We went to our outstanding dermatologist today. He said that it isn’t cellulitis nor is it athlete’s foot. Rather, he suspects Raynaud’s Syndrome, and had us make an appointment with my son’s rheumatologist for tomorrow. He also recommended that I have the rheumatologist order some specific blood tests etc. Apparently this complication can occur with lupus.

We see the rheumatologist tomorrow. Here is a link so you know what you are praying for. http://www.lef.org/protocols/heart_circulatory/raynauds_syndrome_01.htm

Thank you for the continuing prayers.

This is a lot to take in, I know. BUT, there is NOTHING impossible for God. Praying and believing God for a healing. His will be done.

    BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!

    Hi, Kate –
Forgive my slip, I may have missed this, but, does your son have Lupus?
You are both in my prayers.

    Patricia

  4. I’ll be praying for both of you. Think positive thoughts, God will take care of you!

  5. Isn’t it amazing to see that in a blog you can connect the whole world in prayer. I find that totally breathtaking. I have seriously taken you both into my heart and I will continue to pray for your son, of course, and for you, a mother who hurts for her son! A friend of ours just left UCLA following a stem cell transplant. They released him weeks early because they said he has done so well it is nothing short of a miracle. There is no explanation other than prayer for how well he has done. I do believe in miracles. So I’m asking God for His divine healing power for your son. Let’s hold onto prayer through this particular journey and just KNOW that God is right there holding your hands. oxo Debra

I am overwhelmed to receive all these prayers and support….the kindness that peole have extended and the prayers they have sent heavenward leave me breathless. thank you for your prayers and encouraging words. x0x0

I have Raynaud’s Disease Kate. I have had it for over 10 years now. I pray that your son does start to feel better. Hugs and prayers. Renee

    • Kate Kresse says:

Wow—Thank you so much Renee! He is feeling quite a bit better today. The rheumatologist was very encouraging today. I pray that he continues to improve. Hugs and prayers back to you.

I have had lupus for over 17 years. My thoughts are with you. There are some amazing things they can do now a days.

    • Kate Kresse says:

I am amazed at the expertise of the docs on my son’s team. Have you found good resources, and do you know of nutritional things that help lupus in addition to the meds?

      • dogdaz says:

I did not see your comment, my apologies. I am on a gluten and dairy free diet. I maximize proteins and try to eat a lot of veggies. It has seemed to really help with inflamation which is a big problem for me. – Lorian

        • Kate Kresse says:

dairy and egg free has helped my husband with his inflammation issues too. I wonder if I it plays a role in my son’s lupus? He currently isn’t having flare-ups, but I wonder if that is a piece of it for him as well—and the gluten….that is something for me to look into.

  8. So sorry Kate! Still praying. Grace, mercy, and peace be unto you! ❤

  9. Susan Michaels says:

Kate, your son was on my heart during evening prayers…and I felt the Spirit’s bold prompting of faith…”Look not to the circumstances, but to the greatness of Your God…” He is near, and His healing touch is mighty! Ongoing prayers of faith and hope, Sue

  10. Caddo Veil says:

Oh Sis, I was thinking of you and Josh today, wondering if I should email you. I will step up the prayers as you seek more specific medical help–and I stand firm in agreement with what Susan M said, “look not to the circumstances, but to the greatness of Our God”. Last night as I prayed, I was visualizing Jesus’ healing hands reaching down to touch Josh. And I am lifting you up, as well–I know that your mama’s heart must be stressed! Sending tons of love to you, in and around the healing prayers. God bless y’all–love, sis Caddo

  12. Praising God for His difinitive answer. Knowing what your son is dealing with is a good start in fighting that which is finding its way to his body. I’ve lit my prayer candle in his name morning and night. My thoughts and prayers for his dad and mom too, for that sense of helplesness is a hard one to fight alone. Gentlest hugs for all three ~

    • Kate Kresse says:

Lady B~ thank you for the ongoing prayers and thoughts. It is all helping. Today was better than yesterday. significantly so. Keep praying—it is my fervent prayer that he will continue to improve and heal as quickly as he has today….

  13. Oh, Kate, how anxious you must be feeling. This is not what you wanted to hear since he seemed like he was on the mend. Don’t hesitate to ask the docs as many questions as you need and I’m sure you will do all the research. Knowledge is power. Praying for your family.

    • Kate Kresse says:

Boy you nailed that right. by the time we got to the rheumatologist today i was a wreck. his diagnosis was acrocyanosis with a fungus to boot. he said that he has great arterial pulses, and does not have reynards. so feeling better today knowing that it is still manageable. thank you for your prayers, kindness, and support. it really means so much.

  14. AlohaKarina says:

I’m glad to know it’s not Renyaud’s…thinking of you and wishing the best, sending lots of prayers for healing!
