Today is Sunday. Two weeks in a row I am actually completing Jake’s Water Dragon Sunday Post ON Sunday….if I do it three weeks in a row, according to the business financial analyst I once was, it is a trend. But these days I am a math tutor (among so many things). And in that case—two points = a straight line. I know, irrelevant. Just wanted to toss something math-y in there ;-).

Anyway, the theme this week is Shelter. I do have this photo to offer. Β

This is the porch swing at my mom’s house. It is the perfect place to sit and contemplate what is going on in my life. My dad and I used to sit out there and swing and chat. It provides a splendid view of this tree! The comfort of a swing and a tree~Shelter.

thanks Francine—-would have preferred a picture of the motel i stayed at on the coast of maine eons ago—but i have no photos of that….but the porch swing was a real mainstay of my teens and twenties.

  2. Oh yeah… sigh… breath… this is a lovely place. A cup of tea and a good book, or friend like a dad. How nice.

I love this theme of …’shelter’…Kate, and also your memories of sitting on the swing with your Dad…heartwarming! My own Dad loved mathematics…and I had to smile because today would have been his 85th birthday…He’s been with the Lord for 13 years (getting the mansion ready) πŸ™‚

Lovely! And if we ever meet maybe you can explain geometry to me. I think it would help improve my pool game and geometry was my most difficult subject.

  16. Kate Kresse says:

Wouldn’t that be fun! I could bring my whiteboard, markers, and spiffy notecards, you could bring your fabulous photos, we’d cover geometry, your world trips, play a little pool~sounds fun!
