Sunday Post: Blossom

http://jakesprinters.wordpress.com/2012/04/14/sunday-post-blossom/. I was supposed to post this on sunday. Both Cee and Jake have outstanding ideas for Sunday posts. I always mean to post them on Sunday, but I seldom do it right on Sunday. However: this week I am really glad that I didn’t get around to it? Well, this week was my wedding anniversary. More precisely my husband and my wedding anniversary. Our very first date was to a James Taylor concert. As a matter of fact, it was a blind date!

I always liked his music, but his music is intertwined in our hearts in a very special way. We got married a couple of weeks after Easter~as a matter of fact, my bridal bouquet had Easter Lilies in it. So when I think of Jake’s Sunday Post Blossom, I think of James Taylor’s song Blossom. Here are the lyrics~I will post a youtube video of him singing the song.

Blossom, smile some sunshine down my way
Lately, I’ve been lonesome
Blossom, it’s been much too long a day
Seems my dreams have frozen
Melt my cares away

Send the sunshine down my way whenever you call my name
I know what you mean to say to me, girl, it’s all the same

Blossom, there’s any empty road behind
Sit you down beside me
Blossom, there’s a sweet dream on my mind
There’s a song inside me
Take these chains away

Now, send the sunshine down my way whenever you call my name
I know what you mean to say to me, girl, it’s all the same

Blossom, smile some sunshine down my way
Lately, I’ve been lonesome
Blossom, it’s been much too long a day
Seems my dreams have frozen
Melt my cares away

Gotta love sweet baby James!! Very lovely, Kate–Happy Anniversary to you and your Sweetie!! God bless you with many more years to celebrate true love!

  6. When you get to 30 years, you know you’ve really achieved something! There aren’t that many of my friends who have been able to meet that special anniversary…sadly! I love James Taylor, too. I went to a concert in 1970 where he opened for Carole King…he was just getting started 🙂 I’ve always thought that was so special. Debra
