At least a week ago Amy Elizabeth of tbnranch gave me the Kreative Blogger Award. It has taken me way to long to publicly thank her for the gracious gift. Thank you so much, Amy Elizabeth. If you haven’t been to her blog (or even if you have) you should high-tail it over there! Here is her link. http://tbnranch.com/ Back to my point, now. {Note: At the end of the post there is a backstory that tells an interesting coincidence about the title of this award and my own life}
I think this is a terrific idea for an award and name for an award. Everyone in the blogging community is creative, aren’t they? We create little worlds for each other with our words and photographs. It is a wondrous and lovely world. Amy Elizabeth creates a world with her poetry, and with everything else she writes. I create worlds, too. Optimistic worlds. For the award I am supposed to do a few things. The first was to thank Amy Elizabeth. Besides that, I have to post a link on her blog when I publish this post. The next task is to list 7 interesting things about myself:
- When I was a kid I walked to and from the library reading as I walked. I never once fell down or ran into anything.
- When we went to a family friend’s house when I was a kid, the family had a pony. They had to walk the pony from the barn, through the kitchen, and out the side door, in order to reach the fenced in riding area.
- I didn’t learn to walk until I was 17 months old, but spoke in full paragraphs by the time I was 9 months old. Yeh—wordy then, wordy now.
- My favorite vegetable is asparagus.
- I met George McGovern when he campaigned for President the 2nd time. I swooned like a love-struck teenager. It made the Secret Service guys laugh.
- I love to make potato and leek soup.
- Someday I plan to live in a land called Hon-a-lee.
- Terri at http://dailysweetpeas.com/. She loves to read, she loves life, she is joy, joy, joy.
- Wendell Brown at http://foreverpoetic.wordpress.com/. He always has splendid poetry, heartfelt comments and words. I just recently began following his blog.
- Mlissabeth at http://mlissabeth.wordpress.com/. She is a true wordsmith, crochet-er and lover of life. She is a life-affirmer, for sure.
- Then there is the dear, dear Lady Barefoot Baroness Blog at http://tonij.wordpress.com/. Boy oh boy are you in for a treat. Go see her. She is the epitome of deep and real.
- For a breath of fresh air and the joy she brings, visit http://breathelighter.wordpress.com/. You will be glad you did :-).
- Now Carl at http://carldagostino.wordpress.com/about/ is so creative that if you looked up creative in your dictionary, i bet you would find a picture of him!
- And then there is Madeline at http://madalund.wordpress.com/. She is creative in her approach to life and bogging. She is taking care of all kinds of things these days and is a treasure.
- I know I said 7–but I am exercising my creativity. My list of creative bloggers cannot be complete without including dear Uta at http://auntyuta.wordpress.com. To follow her blog is a walk through an incredible, fascinating wonderful history and fabulous outlook on life. She lived through WWII, came out on the other side of it….is now in Australia—and is just terrific.
CONGRATULATIONS!
BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!
Thank you so very much….
Mrs. Kresse: I very much appreciate your thoughtful kindness and generous words. It is a delightful way for me to start this Monday morning. I have switched between Rep and Dem over the 40 years I have voted(never missed once from city to state to national) but I too voted for McGovern in the primary and general in ’72 and in the primary ’80 I think it was. I wrote a post on him Aug 10, 2010 and perhaps you would care to visit it. Blessings.
OOOh! I will look at it…McGovern ran in the primaries in 84. My husband and I were Living in NH at the time—so we saw the candidates swarming everywhere in NH and in Massachusetts a few weeks later. I have switched between parties too—and am independent. In the primaries I have to register for a party in order to vote. So I register in whichever party has the candidates that captivate me at the time. Then I switch if need be for the next one. Never missed an election either. Love being able to vote. I will definitely read your post on good old George :-). Blessings back.
Congrats! My mom wanted me to walk before I was one. I took my first step the day after my first birthday. My mom is still peeved about that 🙂
LOL that is funny. I was the first born on both sides of my family; so everyone was spoiling me since I was so verbose and charming. Once everyone realized that they were becoming my hands and feet they stopped and I walked. 🙂
Congratulations…it looks great among the many other awards on your site as well.
Thanks…I have been blessed and showered abundantly. God bless your day!
Congratulations and blessings to you!
why thank you so much Jessie! God bless you too…
Hallo Kate, thanks for sharing on my blog your memory about the donkey in the restaurant. It’s great to remember such cool times, ins’t it? And thanks also for the Kreative Blogger Award/. At the moment I feel a bit overwhelmed!
What you write about yourself I find most interesting. I might attempt to write something similar about myself after a bit more thinking, but I’m afraid I have problems with inserting links.
Congrats to you for being a Kreative blogger!
do you mean you have trouble putting the badges on your blog? If you want i bet i can help you through that. but either way—you are a Kreativ Blogger–and i just love hearing about yur life story…i truly do. hope you and your family are well. hugs to you==kate
Thank you, Kate, and hugs back. Yes, I and my family are well, except for Gaby’s carer. He still has severe health problems. So far Gaby has always been able to get the help she needed. So we continue to be hopeful.
I will keep Gaby’s care-giver in my prayers. Glad to hear all of you are well. Loving your stories
Thanks so much for the “shout out,” Kate. It may take me a while to respond in kind, but I will! You are definitely an encouragement and certainly creative-or Kreativ (ha!). Debra
I totally get the time issue—it took me awhile to get it out too
Oh, this is incredibly good!! Love it–I’m soaking up the “Kreativity” here!! Bless you, sister!
thanks–and you are welcome, sister!
Walking to and from the library while reading and never falling down, eh? Hmm. And you said you had a reputation for being clumsy–maybe should have carried a book everywhere, eh? 😉
I bet that would help! maybe i was going through a graceful phase! when i started to do the book walking gig i was still in ballet and had been for 5 years!
It pays to know where my recent Kreativ award (which I received from Wendell, the forever poetic) originated from. Thank you from my heart. Now I could begin to acknowledge and claim the award knowing what a blessing this is for me! I shall be following you soon!
cheers,
Cynthia
i am so happy to know that Wendell passed that award on to you. You definitely have a creative blog!!
