Patricia at http://todayithink.wordpress.com/2012/01/23/monday-way-to-start-the-week-o/ gave me the 7×7 Link Award. We just recently discovered each other’s blogs so I am incredibly honored that she would choose me/my blog. Thank you so much, Patricia. This is an interesting award to compile the information for, as you will see.
With this award I am instructed to tell 7 things about myself, give 7 links to posts in different categories, and pass this to 7 other bloggers. OK here we go!
7 things about myself:
1. I love potato soup
2. I think cooking, sewing, and scrapbooking are always more enjoyable when done with someone
3. the first classical piece of music I fell in love with was Appalachian Spring by Aaron Copland.
4. i am kind, open, and have a good sense of humor
5. i can be shy and yet i love to get up in front of a group and give a presentation
6. i love musicals
7. i love folk music and balladeers too
7 links to posts in different categories (i think this means to my own posts)(not in any particular order)(Arghhh it is so hard to choose!!)

congrats on this lovely award Kate.
the 7×7 award is a bit differnt from others since if forces us to look back on our writing journey 🙂
I remember enjoying doing my 7×7 post.
Your nomineess are also cool so are the 7 links and 7 facts abt you. I will try and checkout all 14 links 🙂
did you find when you were looking back through your past posts that you had forgotten some of what you wrote? Often when I write I am emptying all the thoughts and feelings from my head to the blog post. Once it is out of my head it is preserved (but no longer in my head :-)). It feels kind of funny to list 7 past posts. A bit like strutting. On the other hand, I chose a lot of my posts from early in my blogging activities because a lot of people weren’t aware of my blog when i posted those.
Congrats! I need to listen to Aaron Copland since I don’t think I’ve heard the piece you mentioned. I have a feeling I’ll love it. Potato soup sounds perfect for today since it is raining.
i am guessing if you listened to Appalachian Spring you would recognize big parts of it. Potato soup (especially with some leeks tossed in, too) is perfect on those raw rainy days.
Dear Mrs. Kate (Optimism) Kresse,
Thank you kindly!
Maria
you are so very welcome, Maria. I am looking forward to hearing how your book signing goes. Trying to picture folks lining up just to meet you and get your autograph in your book!
Kate, as I said, you are optimistic! (Maybe I should be too.)
do the local churches know about your book and signing?
Forgive me, Kate! I forgot to congratulate you!
giggle-thanks, Maria!
Congratulations dear Kate, you deserve. Thank you, Blessing and Happiness, with my love, nia
Sweet Nia—thank you so very much. Blessings, prayers, happiness and hugs to you—Love, Kate

Thank you Kate…I completed my post for this. I hoped I did everything right and pushed all the right buttons. Thank you again!
You are so welcome! Of course you did everything right. Let me know if you have trouble getting the badge on your blog. I had a little trouble myself the first time. I had to delete and re-do it. All thumbs that time, I guess 🙂
Congratulations! I especially liked number 4 on your list. “4. i am kind, open, and have a good sense of humor”. I can see from your blog and the comments you make on mine, how wonderful you are.
Cheers,
Louise
thank you so much, Louise. i love your stories on your blog, too. there are times i just burst out laughing with the tales of you, your husband and the children. blessings to you.
Congratulations Kate, and very well deserved I might add! I have become a big fan of yours! 🙂 You are an inspiration to me, and each time you visit my blog, you bring a smile to my face! For that, I thank you very much! God bless you, and may heaven smile upon you!
Paulette
thanks Paulette. I, too, am a fan of you and your blog. You lift my heart and teach me each time I visit your blog (or you visit mine). May God bless you and send you hugs and joy today <3!
Kate, you asked about the local churches knowing about my signing. Informing areas churches is such a great idea! When I’m planning another I’ll do this. Thank you!!
you’re welcome!! maybe you can go talk at one of the church’s women’s groups or a youth group even!
