What if today…Joy Forwarding Prompt: Week 1

FYI: This first paragraph is an update–on 1/25/2012. I am going to handle all the Joy-Forwarding posts over at this link now http://joyforwardingproject.com/. So put all your comments for Joy-Forwarding over there. There’s an email subscription button over there, too.  All my other blogging will still be here at Believe Anyway.

For anyone who wants to participate in the Joy Forwarding Project, here is my attempt for forwarding joy for this week: Yes, an attitude of gratitude can help us spread joy because we will be full of thankfulness. If we are bitter or complaining or grumbling about what we don’t have, we can’t be joyful.

So, in order to forward joy—let us for the next week try to keep track of a few things (mentally at least). Let’s make a genuine effort to Thank people for things that we normally just take for granted, like: (1) the bagger at the grocery store, or the person restocking shelves and displays at the grocery store; (2) telemarketers (!)—I know!! They call at inconvenient times and they don’t take no for an answer sometimes. BUT—they, too are trying to make a living. They too are trying to not take previous rejection by past call recipients personally and still be warm to the new person.

So—let’s see what everyone comes up with in the next week. Obviously there are others to thank besides the ones I listed. Let’s start Forwarding Joy ❤

About Kate Kresse

I love to write, I love to talk, I love to uplift people when I can. I am a woman in love with life. I am a wife, mom, tutor, writer, and I am a perennial optimist. (OK not every single minute but you get the point! :-)

Kate, thank you for your insight about telemarketers! They too are trying…

  2. Susan Michaels says:

Good word, Kate, and busy with work, work, work, but here’s a ‘joy’ quote from one of my vision journals I wanted to share (Sorry, uncertain who the author is):

“The true woman is a recipient of redemption. God set His sovereign affection upon her. He bound Himself to her in covenant faithfulness to be her God. He has redeemed her…she is His treasured possession. We are in the fold of unspeakable love. A love that wraps eternal security around us…because we are His treasured possessions…”

Be blessed this week in being His! 🙂 Susan

  3. TBM says:

Thanks for the reminder to be kind!

  4. dogear6 says:

I don’t remember if Hook visits your blog or not. His blog makes a compelling argument for appreciating the bellman at the hotels! He’s got some great customers and some pretty awful ones too.

P.S. – thanks for the award! That was very sweet.
