How do you know when it’s time to go?. Sometimes when you are spending time with a friend (in person or on the phone) it is difficult to know whether you haven’t spent enough time or you are beginning to overstay your welcome. Face to face it is a bit easier because you can pick up on little “body language” type cues. What to do? Communicate the best you can.
Now, if i want to discuss this topic on another level (which of course i do) I will examine how to know when it is time to change jobs, or stop being a member of group you have joined. Obviously if there has been a parting of the ways and the company (or the group) has moved in a direction you find unacceptable or even unethical or perhaps illegal–it is of course time to go. But on the other hand if you just have that uneasy generally dissatisfied feeling, does that mean it is time to go? Sometimes yes, sometimes no. It is definitely time to pray on it at length; perhaps make lists of pros and cons; perhaps discuss with a trusted friend/loved one.
Most of the time you get really blessed and you know in your mind, gut, and heart (after all of this careful prayer and consultation)—that it is either time to stay and make things better or go…..but it is important to remember always…that feeling of general dissatisfaction is at times just how life is…why is that? Oh gosh, that is the easiest of all. We aren’t ever going to be permanently satisfied in this lifetime….our true satisfaction comes at the end—when we are home in heaven with our Master. Until then we have moments or even lengthy times where things feel great—and other times when they aren’t.
The challenge? Keep our chins up and hold on to that joy that comes from Him—-the joy that is The Promise. He will be with us always . Blessings to you today and always.
