A number of years ago there was a lovely show on TV called Touched by an Angel. At that time we had an infant daughter that had many medical problems and needed many surgeries. After her 8th surgery (this was an open heart surgery) when she was 10 months old, she died and went to her heavenly reward. During our grief journey, a particular episode of Touched by an Angel came on. Wynonna Judd was in the episode and played the part of a mom whose son was dying. She was struggling with letting him go, and was in the process of writing a song. At the end of the episode, her son did die while she was surrounded by family, friends, and neighbors who bore her up with love, prayers and support. In the process of his death she sang the song she was writing, as a celebration of life. The song she sang was Lord I Lift Your Name on High. I ALWAYS thing of that time when I hear that song. It is copyrighted @1989 by Maranatha Press.
Here is the song:(Lord I Lift Your Name on High).
Lord I lift your name on high. Lord I love to sing your praises.
I’m so glad you’re in my life. I’m so glad you came to save us.
You came from heaven to earth to show the way.
From the earth to the cross, my debt to pay.
From the cross to the grave, from the grave to the sky;
Lord I lift your name on high.
You came from heaven to earth to show the way.
From the earth to the cross, my debt to pay.
From the cross to the grave, from the grave to the sky;
Lord I lift your name on high.

It is a triumphant song and so often it is sung at church—on the exact Sunday that I need to hear it…..Lord I DO lift your name on high, I DO love to sing your praises….and I am OH so glad you are in my life….Praising God on this glorious Sunday…
Kate, my heart goes out to you. That you keep the optimist attitude is a tribute to your faith.
The best to you always.
Gwen—you’ve been through your own heartaches, too. I think we all have—yet we do march on towards our joyous reunions and heavenly rewards. We must become and remain lit candles set high on the stand—not fire extinguishers! It is God’s grace that is the waterproof match that keeps me lit. I owe it all to His presence in my life—often through lovely people—-like you, for instance.
Thank you for sharing this story of hope, grief and grace. She must be looking down upon you.
yeah—i think she is…we get sweet signs of that every now and then. Thanks Josette 🙂
Bless you, Dear Soul . . .
thanks, sweet friend
