Fashion fades, Style is Eternal—and Class is the Key

Anyone who knows me well knows that I am not a shopper and I am definitely not a fashionista. I like classics—simple lines, blazers, simple tops. Even still, on a good day I feel like I own the world. I love that feeling. My mom says if you find an outfit that makes you feel that way you should wear it every day for a few weeks (she was a stewardess back in the day and a model told HER that). Then once you have that integrated in your mind, never buy or wear anything that doesn’t make you feel that way.

I like that concept. We all need to be able to walk into a room and walk through our lives as though we own it. If you walk as though you have courage—you get courage. …

So when I say style is eternal this is what I mean….youth fades….fashion trends fade. Style and class MUST be developed. A true sense of self is required in order to have real class. I must have confidence in myself….and when I think about it, I really have no reason not to have confidence in myself…

I thought to myself today “hey, wait a minute here! what happened to the girl i was when i got out of college”? i had the world by the tail. my theory was i may as well go for it and get that management job even though i didn’t yet have a lot of experience. I knew at times I would falter and fall but that didn’t deter me. I knew that was part of life and that I would brush myself off, get up and learn from the experience,

Even though now I am working in far different fields than when I began, I must remember…..I am STILL Kate…I am still me….style and class ALWAYS are the key.

This morning I was discouraged. Then I taught my student Amy. She is my BLING girl. She explained that she has become bling. By that she means that she has found her inner sparkle. Her statement helped me get back in touch with my own inner sparkle. I say—the gal is back! Join me—-let’s sparkle! I wish you love, joy, and total blinginess!
