Have you been to where your parents were born?.I have been to the towns my parents were born in! My dad was born in a little town in Iowa. It is utterly charming, and still very agricultural. It is heavily Norwegian American —and it feels as though I am related to half the town when I visit! It is so cute. the homes are smaller because they are older and in farming communities.
My mom, on the other hand, was born in Minneapolis. I have been there many, many times and lived there for many years as well. Love Minneapolis—-very cosmopolitan, highly educated, very outdoors oriented, nature loving and culturally aware. Love Minneapolis! I have been blessed with the fact that I have lived many places. Every place lovely, and the people wonderful in their own special ways.
