Postaday topic #198: Describe your dream house

Topic #198: Describe your dream house.  Where is it? What rooms does it have? How would you design the floorplan? Would you do in the layout and style of the house if there were no restrictions on expense or location?

Let me start at the beginning and discuss location. That means I can re-arrange the country and have all my friends and relations still in there homes but their homes transported magically to within a half hour drive of me. I would have my home either on the coast of Maine, the jersey shore, an uncrowded (if it exists) stretch of CA shoreline, or along the St. Croix river in MN.Next—a one story home with wide doorways in case I end up in a wheel chair. Huge deck with ramp and steps off the great room leading to whatever water I am near. Decent size rooms with floor to ceiling bookcases in each room—with retractable pull down doors. If the house is not in the north, tile in every room—and soft washable rugs in various places. Sliding windows in every room, walk-in-closets in the bedrooms. Gas log firelplace in the great room and the MBR. Ceilings and gutters that are easily reached standing on a 6′ ladder….And a regular refrigerator plus an additional refrigerator just for produce. Containter gardens for growing some of my produce. A sewing room with a huge pull down table for laying out my quilts. Built in cabinets in the garage (floor to celing cabinets).

And friends coming and going all the time. all…the …time! How is that for starters??
