Postaday Topic #177: What does freedom mean?

What does freedom mean?. topic 177 Freedom means that you have life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Not happiness, but its pursuit. It means that we can start a business, invent a product or procedure. It means that the government doesn’t determine a preset amount of products a company can produce or employees a store ust solve, It also means that companies whose goals we do not agree with can flourish, too.

Freedom should mean that folks take the responsibility to be thoughtful when they speak or act…at least the adults should. instead they seem to dissolve into finger pointing and shouts of ‘he’s worse’ and ‘he started it’….

I am beginning to feel that in order to exercise one’s freedom one needs to think. For me, freedom needs to mean that i am no longer required to participate in trading insults. My teachers accurately taught me the difference between disagreement and insults. There is definitely a difference. It is a huge breath of fresh air to be able to exchange opposing views with someone—each mentioning their own pertinent points. I am not explaining myself very well—I am a little tired and worn out…half falling asleep as I blog.

Freedom should apply to everyone (born and unborn)…I hope everyone’s 4th is wonderful. I get so very choked up by the patriotic music. I think of the huge sacrifices our military forces and other people have made to make our country great. I think of Abraham Lincoln who freed the slaves….I think of Eisenhower who ended our involvement in the Korean War….I think of so many folks…and their sacrifices in the name of improving things for someone somewhere…..
