Topic #171:
Do you believe in free-will? Can you prove what you believe? Oh boy, philosophy! Yes I most definitely believe in free will. I do not believe that every moment of my life is some sort of pre-ordained/predetermined scenario. I think sometimes we just kind of roll along with the rapid tide of the river of life, without thinking about the necessity of participating in the decision process. We sometimes let life happen to us instead of taking charge of things. Now when i say taking charge of things i do not mean keeping God out of the loop. Ideally, we serve as God’s little ambassadors or emissaries. We try to carry out his will and build his Church on earth. He is the source of our free will. We are called to, as my husband is fond of saying, use it for good, not evil. Each step of our lives we can chose what we want to choose, as long as we are willing to live with the consequences of that decision, of course.
That is what I have to say about that. I am SO not a philosopher!
