What have you lost recently?. Well—thanks to my generally healthy eating and exercising, I have lost about 15 pounds in the last year. Granted that is just a beginning—but it is a beginning. It encourages me to try to keep it up. My whole family has been on a new healthier lifestyle this last year in an attempt to get healthier, exercise more, and lose weight. Sometimes we go like gangbusters as the saying goes. Sometimes we plateau for MONTHS which is extremely frustrating….it makes us want to give up. But so far, we are hanging in there. The past few weeks I have lost my enthusiasm for exercise. For awhile I just quit doing it. That, of course, is never the right strategy with exercise, but quit I did. Now it’s time for re-dedication. Perhaps what I need to lose is my backsliding! A professional organizer stated that if you link together a bunch of consecutive days of a new habit, you eventually become more and more committed to keeping that string going. I can believe that. By golly, that is the theory behind post a day!
Doing that has proven I can form new habits, and be committed to them. So perhaps the next step is to pull out my strategic planning tools and make my plan…I CAN do this….I AM a perennial optimist
