Do you believe in life on other planets? Why or why not? Why do you think most alien races in most movies are so dangerous rather than friendly? i do not believe there are humans on the other planets. Yes, I have seen numerous movies and documentaries about the subject. i just cannot buy that there is currently human life on the other planets. Recently scientists have said that they think there is water on Jupiter. That being said, perhaps there is/was life on Jupiter.
You would think that interplanetary travel and space stations docked at each planet. Then the spaceship could be guided between planets. Furthermore, they could attempt to decide once and for all build on the planets…or at least study them. Maybe we don’t want to junk up the other planets! There may be substances or plants on other planets that could solve or cure environmental or health problems here. We must keep our minds open to that possibility and remain committed to the space program. just one woman’s opinion—the opinion of a woman that is a perennial optimist
It is a bit egotistical to think we are the only “intelligent life forms”, but for me the question is more not: Is there life out there?–It is rather: Where is the other life forms out there?
Just a stroll down the block and one can see the magnificent diversity created here. What little we know of the planets in our solar system tells us there are a variety of types of planets. There are logically other types of life. Other systems may have human forms, I don’t know but I wish we could find out. We don’t seem to find the $ or the will to do so.
As for the big and little screen portrayals of other life forms–humanoid or not–well some of it is laughable but the idea that there may be strange creatures formed into societies and able to travel various parts of the universe is one way of expressing the belief that we are not alone. That other forms of life are important too. That other cultures and creatures may or may not be friendly to us. When Buck Rodgers was put into the movie theaters for Saturday nickle matinees and when Jules Verne wrote his great works, the idea of space travel was fantastical. It still has fantastical elements, but look how many of the things they inspired came into life!
I just hope we take the Star Trek Prime Directive to heart and not interfere with the internal development of alien civilizations. Anything else is inviting conflict where none may presently exist. Conflicts will arise with or without our help probably. We will need all the inspiration we can get to resolve those conflicts. Which means I can only end with one more phrase: May the force be with us!
I wish we could find out too….it is almost as if , if there are other life forms, they are toying with us almost! ….keeping themsevles well hiddent. if they are in a time warp, it may be that they are invisible to us and we to them
