Write about something you see: Topic # 125

Write about something you see. As I blog today I am sitting in my family room. I am looking at a little wooden box with a scene painted on the cover. It is a painting of an adirondack chair on the sand looking our at the ocean. in the sand in front of the chair is a pail and shove. On the arm of the white adirondack chair is a seagull. The sky and ocean are both brilliant shades of blue. The hinged top is a hinge made of rope. This lovely box was a gift from Dana, a dear, dear, dear friend of mine. She shares my love for the ocean….she shares my love for God, family, country, books, humor, and so very much more. When I think of her I think of the lovely hours we spent together. I can almost travel to the coast in my mind. Of course, when I do that, I naturally think of Pattie….then Linda…then Terri…Valerie…Mary…Terry….such AMAZING women….and then my heart already filled to the brim turns to my desert oases of friendships right here….Kathleen…Randalyn…Tanya…

I keep that little box near to remember her and to never lose touch with my love for so very many people and things. When God closes a door and opens a window…I have to say the view is FABULOUS…FABULOUS….and for this perenial optimist, it always will be.
