Although this economy has ravaged our finances, I am thankful that I am able to find work as a tutor. Granted, if I was able to find work that my MBA trained me for, I would, in theory be making a lot more money. Fortunately, I LOVE to tutor. It is incredibly rewarding and thrilling to see each of my little birds or repaired kites soar to the skies. It fills my heart with joy. Many of my students have been bullied and have done poorly in school. It is wonderful to be able to help them find the learning strategies that help them.
Beyond the tutoring, I would also love to be a writer…oh wait…I am a writer. I enjoy putting my thoughts on paper (or on blog). I love being able to put my ideas out there and to encourage people that read my blog.
Now, I don’t know that I would actually tutor for free, as the parents seem to value my time and assistance partly because they are paying me! When they value me, they convey it to my students. This helps my students’ commitment levels to their studies.
It is a joy to teach and write…..what else do we leave behind when we go but the next generation and the things we have created! What would your profession be?
