If you had to debate a younger version of yourself, who would win?

If you had to debate a younger version of yourself, who would win?. 4/21/11 104 If you had to debate a version of yourself that was ten years younger, who would win? What about a game of chess? Or a 5k run? How are you better, or worse, at various traits than you were then? If I was debating, the older version of me would win; I am more patient and logical now than when I was 10 years ago. I am better at chess than I was 10 years ago. The 5K run would be a toss up. I am better at biding my time and explaining things and explaining myself now than I was 10 years ago. I am more aware now of the implications of what people are saying. I would hope, also, than I am kinder now than I was 10 years ago. I try to avoid saying things that are hurtful now—generally speaking saying hurtful things seldom advance the discussion in any sort of fruitful way. Furthermore, I am less likely now to be drawn into a pointless debate than I was 10 years ago. These days I find it very freeing to refuse to battle. I recognize at this stage of my life what the difference between a debate and a pointless fight is.
