Postaday topic #92: What’s the most enjoyable hour of your typical weekday?

This wasn’t really the topic for topic#92. The real topic was which box of cute little puppies will you choose to save from an approaching train–box with a lot of puppies or box with a few puppies–and you could only save one. I didn’t want to do that, so I chose this as a substitute. According to the rules, I’m allowed! ;–)

When I was in high school I lived in Chicago. The weather was typical midwest weather, so there was a fair amount of precipitation. It was in those years that I decided that I liked rainy (or snowy Thursdays). First of all I liked Thursday. The school week was nearly over, and the weekend and time off loomed ahead with promise. I liked rainy Thursdays because they made me feel cozy and focused. With the rain driving against the classroom windows I felt the desire to draw closer to my work, classmates, and teachers. I don’t mean physically closer, I mean I felt as though we were operating as a united team. When we had a rainy Thursday I felt like skipping down the hallways (I think I actually skipped sometimes). This feeling continued to this day….of course in AZ we rarely get rain on any day, let alone on Thursday.
That same feeling hits me now early in the evenings on Thursdays….if I have to pick an hour I’d say 7-8PM on Thursday. Again, the bulk of my tutoring week is over. My husband’s work week only has another long Friday in it. My son’s work week only has one more day. We are about 24 hours away from family time…at least that is my ideal. In reality we often work the weekends, too…but even then we 90% of the time have from 4-8 pm together on Saturday at least. That is for church, dinner, and family conversation. Thursdays, though, are my heavenly days…i know our time together is coming… students are happy because their weekend is coming, too!

Ok—what is your favorite hour?
