How did you get your name?. Who chose it, and why? My parents chose my name. They liked the name! Originally they planned to name me Susan. However, they did not like the name Susie [because of the old song ‘If you knew Susie, like I know Susie, oh what a girl’]. My dad, being a brand new dad of a daughter, and already feeling very protective of me in regards to boys and dating [remember i’m only moments old at this point] decided he didn’t want anyone singing that song about me! So Susan was out as a name for me.That is all I know about the story. Judging by how long it took my brothers, parents, and me to name our cats over the years…… I would imagine there was some debate and deal making in order to choose a final name.
