2/10/11 Topic: what is your favorite word?. Why? Bonus: what is your least favorite word? What word are you entirely neutral about? For all your word choices, is it how they sound, or what they mean that defines your opinion of them? Favorite words: numismatics and unmitigated. Both cases largely because of how they sound (but with unmitigated the meaning is so perfect and it’s usage fits the bill). Numismatics—back when i learned the word I just thought it was fun because it sounded complicated.
Least favorite word? DAVENPORT…ugh. Hate the sound of it….much prefer couch. The word has always given me the creeps. I have no idea why! It makes me wince. My parents called the couch or sofa a davenport. i’d be embarassed if they said the word in front of my friends. I thought it was so weird!!
