#9 1/9/11 Describe a recent Aha! moment. What sparked it?Today
I was really feeling sorry for myself and quite put upon. I have had Bell’s
Palsy now for about 2 weeks. I have had to rush all over town for a ton of
doctor appointments and tests. I keep thinking to myself why did this happen?
The doctor’s say it could be caused by one of 2 things most likely. Either it
is from the same virus that caused chicken pox when I was a kid. Apparently if
you have had chicken pox, this virus lies latent in you forever. Why would it
strike now? The doctors’ best guess is extreme stress. So I vacillate between
self-pity and anger… Today I realized that by staying close to God, and
enveloping myself in the support and love being given to me, I can reverse my
stress….and God will have enough room in my heart to heal my heart and
hopefully my body. I also realized that I can tell the doctors I need to
postpone some of these non-critical tests and appointments so that I can rest.
Yep—my aha moment came when I realized “hey wait a minute…these guys are NOT
the boss of me”…I felt like a cross between being an empowered woman and Junie
B Jones! Then I remembered….positive thinkers attract positive people and
positive experiences. I am going to get better. I am a perennial optimist.

I Am Becoming the Me I Was Born To Be
As I journey through this part of my life I have discovered my next mountain. The key is to be the me I want to be in the world, as my gift back to God.-
