Postaday topic #7: Share a story about a memorable job interview

#7 Share a story about a memorable job interview.1/7/11. My most memorable job
interview was right after I graduated from college. I had graduated with a BBA
and believed anybody who was going to be a big shot would start out working for
what was then one of the Big 8 Accounting Firms. As a result, I was running
around town (a new town that my family and I had just moved to) and
interviewing with the accounting firms. I was really spinning my wheels, and
was not getting any second interview requests from the firms. Then I had a
life-changing interview at Price Waterhouse. The man that interviewed me told
me he thought I was chasing someone else’s dream. He told me he thought I was
extremely well-suited for industry. That had not occurred to me up until that
moment. I decided to try his advice. I ended up working for what was called
Burroughs Corporation at the time. They were a computer manufacturer. What a
whirlwind career I had with them. I was promoted rapidly and had many wonderful
assignments. It all goes back to the life-changing interview with the man from
Price Waterhouse.
