#3 What’s the single most important thing you
accomplished in 2010? The single most important thing I
accomplished in 2010 was to help one of my students see her own innate
giftedness. I began working with her a couple of years ago. At that point she
was certain that she just wasn’t going to succeed in academics. She was
discouraged and feeling really low. Step-by-step I was able to convince her
that she merely lacked some academic skills. Week after week we practiced her
math skills and her study skills. She began to see that she was extremely
capable and very bright. We built her math knowledge and algebraic concepts
step by step. Oh my, she worked so hard. She at least believed she is a
possibility; she had the world by the tail. She was quite excited to excel on
tests; she no longer froze up. She was so well prepared because of the work we
did that she actually had fun taking her tests. Then it happened…..she took
charge of her class work in her other classes too. She asserted herself and
asked questions when she didn’t understand…and then……she earned a 4.0!! Oh,
yeah!!! What a terrific accomplishment. She has the world by the tail and she
is ready to go. It was worth all of the hours of work!

I Am Becoming the Me I Was Born To Be
As I journey through this part of my life I have discovered my next mountain. The key is to be the me I want to be in the world, as my gift back to God.-
